SOLICITOR WITH BRlLLlANT SCHOLASTIC CAREER IN TROUBLE

Wellington, Wednesday. On 'an ;app'lication hy the New Zealand Law Society, the Court of Appeal made an order striking Thomas Henry Wood, of Auckland, off the rolls of practising barristers and solicitors of the Dominion. Wood was ordered not to apply for re-admission for at least five years. Counsel for the Law Society stated that Wood had a very brilliant s'cholastic career, obtaining his Master of Law degree with first class "horiours in 19,24 and a travelling scholarship in law in 1928. After studying law in England, he returned to New Zealand and was re-admitted to his partnership. Defalcations amounting to £102 extended over five months of 1932, were admitted hy Wood. No loss had been sustained hy his elients, as the amount of the defalcations ha'd been refunded by Wood's partner.
