TE AWAMUTU SALE

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. report having held their -usual triweekly stock sale at Te Awamutu on Thursday, February 9, as under: — Sheep: There was a large entry of sheep, which met with a good demand at late rates. We offered and sold: Fat 2-ths, 13s to 14s; fat woolly lambs 12s 6d to 15s 4d; forward lambs 8s 9d to 9s lOd; store and cull lambs 6s 4d to 7s 6d; sound mouth ewes 8s 4d; aged ewes 6s 4d; cull ewes 4s lOd to 5s;- Southdown rams 1 to llgns; aged rams 4s to 5s. We also offered and sold on aceount of Earle's Estate, whose property is nearly all sold prime fat 2-tooth wethers at 15s 6d. An exeeptionally good line of prime heavy weight woolly lambs realised 15s 4d. 431 6 and 8-tooth breeding ewes at 10s; 520 4 and 5 year old breeding ewesi at 7s 6d. Cattle: A fair yarding. Prime lightweight bullocks made up to £5 12s 6d; fat cows £2 5s to £4 ls; aged fat cows ■22s 6d to 37s 6d; In-calf Jersey heifers £3; yearling heifers 28s-; weaner calves 11s to 21s; dairy heifers in millc £3 5s; bulls £1 7s 6d to £3 10s. Pigs: There was a full yarding of fat and store pigs; which' met with good competition at late rates. Med.um baconers 39s; light baconers 33s 6d; porkers 25s to 32s; good stores 14s to 18s; weaners 7s to 11s 6d; sows in pig £2 gs.
