FEAR OF OPPOSITION
HITLER'S BOAST. Berlin, Jan. 30. Labour already is talking of a general strike against oppression; _yet most believe there will be suffieient moderation in the Cabinet to prevent Herr Hitler embarking on a provocative course, regarding which some recall his Leipsig boast in 1931, namely, "As soon as our movement is victorious the criminals of 1918 will have to answer for their actions. Either their or our heads will roll in the sand in the struggle." Significance attaehes to the fact that strong Hitlerites, Herr Goering in control of the police and Herr Frick Minister of Interior, occupy key positions of the Ministry, wherein the allegiance of brown shirts and steel helmets is signalised in Herr Seldtes' acceptances of office. A story is current that the coalition was precipitated by the warnings that some sections of the ar;my were planning a coup d'etat to force a dictatorship.
