WAIHOU SALE
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd. report: — At Waihou stock sale on Friday only a medium yarding of sheep and cattle came forward. Beef sold well while values for other cattle remained unchanged. Sheep sold at late rates. Another full yarding of pigs came forward, all classes, especially baconers showing a marked increase on last sale's quotations, the rise, however not being equal to those shown at Frankton and Matamata, which could scarcely be sustained. Quotations: — Store wethers 10s 6d, cull lambs 5s 10d to 6s; heavy fat heifers £3 15s to £4 2s; heavy fat cows £3 5s to £3 17s; medium fat cows £2 12s to £3; lighter and killable 35s to £2 5s, heavy boner cows 25s to 32s; lighter boner cows 14s to 21s; heavy fat bulls £4 10s to £5 4s; lighter fat bulls 34s to £3 5s. Pigs: Heavy baconers £2 8s to £2 12s; medium baconers £2 3s to £2 7s; light baconers 38s to £2 2s; heavy porkers 34s to 38s; medium porkers 29s to 33s; light porkers 24s to 28s; stores 18s 6d to 24s, slip& 12s 6d to 16s; weaners 7s 6d to 12s.
