SALE AT WHAKATANE
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a elearance sale of live stock in the Whakatane saleyards on account of Mr. Robert Mitchell of Taneatua, who is leaving the district. Two thousand sheep and 135 head of cattle, horses, and implements were offered to a large attendance of buyers, operators from the Waikato being present and everything was disposed of under brisk competition at advanced rates. We .quote: Fat P.A. cows and heifers £2 15s 6d to £4 11s; 3-year empty heifers 37s to 40s; 4-year Hereford and P.A. bullocks £3 16s to £4 5s; smaller, £3 4s; 2-2J year P.A. and Hereford steers to £2 14s; P.A. and Hereford cows, calves at foot £2 8s 8d; horses, draught, £11 to £22; hacks £4; cull lambs 2s d to 3s 2d; medium wether lambs 5s to 5s 9d; good store wether lambs 6s 9d, medium ewe lamb is 7d to 4s lOd; good ewe lambs 7s 3d; 2-tooth wethers fis 7d; 2-tooth ewes 10s 7d; 4-tooth to 5-year ewes 9s 2d; 5 and 6 year ewes, 8s 2d.
