INVERCARGILL HAS RECORD MONTH FOR SUNSHINE

Invercargill, Thursday Invercargill with a record of 220 hours of sunshine for December, looks like establishing a record for the first month of the. New Year. Unbroken sunshine has been recorded for several days past. The thermometer registered 85 degrees in the shade yesterday and is not only the highest reading this summer, but is possibly the highest reading recorded at Invercargill. On January 19, 1922, 84 degrees were registered, and readings of 82 were fairly frequent. Yesterday the maximum point was reached early in the afternoon.
