ALBION BEAT OLD BOYS The McLean Cup cricket match between Albion and Old Boys was completed at the Government. Grounds on Saturday, Old Boys continuing their their first innings in which at the close of the previous day's play four wickets had fallen for 43, Matthews (14) and Keane (23) being the not out batsmen. The pair continued to bat confidently and gave promise of the early batting ccllapse being amended. By good' batting, 37 runs had been added when Sutherland effected a separation, but the tailenders failed to last and with the whole side dismissed for 104 runs Old boys were obliged to follow on 105 runs behind the Albion first innings. The second effort was practically a repetition of the first, Lenihan beating Spedding in his first over when the score was 11 runs, and disposing of Heley leg before five runs later. Hampson and Keane were both out off Sutherlands bowling and Matthews fell to Lenihan, five wickets being down for only 23 runs. Although losing Godsalve with only one run added, Pipson settled down to play the bowling, and with the help of Lewis and Mulligan 62 runs were added before the ninth wicket fell and the innings closed. Sherriff was absent. Sutherland three for 25 runs, and Lenihan three for 16, were the most successful bowlers for Albion.
