FLUCKY SALVAGE BY FIREMAN AND DRIVER

Wellington, Thursday. A Marton message states that shortly before 7 p.m. to-night, a fire was discovered in the railway goods shed at Marton Junction. The flames had a strong hold. The staff removed books and papers, but it was impossible to save the eontents of the shed, the value of which is not available to-night. When the outbreak occnrred, it was discovered that thrce motor-trucks were standing in the shed, and at a great risk, a driver and fireman toolc an engine into the building, hooked up the trucks and withdrew them from the almost raging inferno. Botli the fireman and the driver received burns about the head.
