The little town of Bardoli, Gujarac district, Bombay Presidency, which was formerly a hotbed of civil disobedience, gave the Governor, Sir Frederick Sykes and Lady Sykes, an enthusiastic weleome when they toured the plaee yesterday. ( Two years ago, no Governor dared enter the town without a strong military police foree, but now the inhabitants have disassociated themselves from Congress and are intensely loyal. They admit frankly they have seen the error of their ways. The Governor even visited the former headquarters of Congress, once a hotbed of sedition and intrigue. Ile held picturesque Durhar for leading councils, where he announced substantial remissions of land revenue as a reward for the people's loyalty.
