LAST NIGHT'S MEETiNG ROTORUA CLUB RECORD BROKEN IN HIGH JUMP GOOD JAVELIN THROW Conditions were ideal for the weekly evening sports meeting of the Rotorua Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club held at the Government Grounds last evening before a good attendance of the public anI excellent forrn. was shown in all events. In the high jump, J. Christophers broke his own club record of 5ft IS ins by 2 inches and the other place winners also jumped well. Throwing the javelin for the first time, M. Herewini put up an excellent performance to throw the weapon, which was slightly overweight, a distance of 120ft. 3ins against the wind. A very close finish resulted in the men's 50yds. handicap and great difficulty was experienced in placing the winners, the six finalists finishing within inches of each other.
