CHAMPION WRESTLER MAKES FAREWELL APPEARAXCE IN ROTORUA George Walker, champion of cbampion wrestlers, will make his farewell appearance, by arrangement with the Dominion of New Zealand Wrestling Union. at the Majestic Theatro, next Thursday. A special programme made up en tirely of sporting items has b.nn arranged for the oceasion, and sportsmen are promised an interesting and entertaining evening. Walker is unquestionably the most of the art of wrestling that has ever visited New Zealand. Gifted with a superb physique and super strength he has proved unconquerable. During the season he has wrestled wieh the greatest talent imported into the Dominion, and out of 69 contests ' has won 59, lost five on points and five were drawn. On this occasion Walker will give exhibition bouts, demonstrating the holds and their counters, showing how he got out of the bold's the American put on him, and it will he the last opportunity of seeing this great wrestler, as it is Walker 's intention to visit America early in the New Year. . " Included in the programme are twp motion pictures of the great wrestling contests between Karasick, the "Russian Lion," > and Detton; &nd George Walker versus Mamos. These bouts which were filmed recently in New Zealand, in their entirety, are •said to bq the two greatest contests vSeen in the Dominion during the season. All the grappling methods, thrusts and holds, an dtheir counters, known in the scientific art were used in the Walker-Mamos contest; whilst the Karasick-Detton match is one of the most excitingly spectacular ones ever seen in the Dominion. Contests have been arranged between local wrestlers as a preliminary, and the programme also includes a number of interesting short subjects dealing with world sporting events, aside from wrestling.
