Rec. Nov. 27, 6.30 p-m. Washington, Nov. 26. The Speaker, Mr. J. N. Garner, announced on Saturday that he would recognise the motion to suspend the rules for a vote on the resolution to repeal the eighteenth amendment on the first day of the coming session of Congress on December 5. He declared: 'Both parties have demanded an opportunity to vote on it, and I am going to Iet them have it."
