WEDDING
PARKS— CORNEY A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised by Captain Thompson at the Salvation Army Hall on Wednesday morning when Evelyn Corney, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Corney, was married to Mr. Thomas Parks, of Gisborne. The hall was decorated in pink and whitel streamers from the centre of which hung a large white wedding bell. Th'e bride wh'o entered the hall on the arm of Mr. W. McKinnon, looked charming in an ankle length frock of white satin, tight fitting at the waist with a full flared skirt. Her veil was of white tulle which was beautifully embroidered and which was attached to her h-ead by a coronet of artificial orange blossom. Miss Elva Corney, sister of the bride, wore a powder blue satin frock the skirt of which was relieved by georgette of a deeper blue. Her white hat was largre-brimmed and toned with frock and shoes, which were also of satin. Mr. C. Maddren was best man. After the ceremony a breakfast was held in the Fnrmers' Social Rooms which were gaily decorated for the oecasion. The tables, which were placed in T-shaped formation were tastefully decorated with vases of sweet peas and fern. . -U18 three-tiered wedding cake stood m the centre of the tables and was delicately ornamented with silver horseshoes and hells. Mrs. Corney, mother of the bride, received the guests in a becoming frock of navy blue georgette.
