pleasant evening was sp'ent at the Parish Hall on Tuesday when the Opotiki Girl Guide Comp>any under the supervision of Captain Morell and Lxeutenants Pattle and McNee, parad'ed.j ^een set Vsome of the ^uides during the early afternoon and the remainder of the company had a very amusing time "tracking" before dusk fell. A letter from Sister Harris, of Rotorua, was read during the evening. Ihe letter was of great interest to the guides who were pleased that
I Sister Harris was endeavouring to keep constantly in touch with them. A competition amongst the different patrols followed which resulted in the Shining Cuckoos winning. A visit was paid to the Waimana Company -by Lieutenant E. Pattle and Guide Pattle when the first parade of that company took place. The Waimana people showed their appreciation of the visit by attending the parade, :The singing of "Taps" brought the happy evening to a close.
