HOSTILE FEELING

TOWARDS VON PAPEN Ree. Nov. 17, 9.55 p.m. Berlin, Nov. 17. Herr von Papen's position is challenged hostilely hy the Centre, BaVarian and People's Parties, representing over 80 States, following the attitude of the Socialists. One authority forecasts that President Hindenbui'g will offer the Chancellorship to any party leader able to command a majority in the Reichstag. If they eannot fulfil this position, Herr von Papen will become dietator and the Reichstag will be dissolved. Others suggested that President Hindenburg will seek an other Chancellor, whose record will excite less bitterness.
