ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO POISON WITH CYANIDE

Rec. Nov. 15, 8.45 p.m. Sydney, November 15. George Champion, ship's steward, was jarrested for endangel'mg the life of his brother, Charles Edward Champion, aged 30 years, who recently arrived from New Zealand, hy caqsing him to consume cyanlde. The pair attended a city theatre last night. Charles told the police that his brother bougHt a bottle of lemonade during the interval and hroughf: it into the theatre. Charles consumed about half the bottle and then.hecame ill. Detectives ascertained that the lemonade contained eyanide, and arrested Geox'ge Champion to-day. The broth.ers had recently quarrelled. Charles had been left a lot of money , and George only a f ew shillings. Aecu'sed was remanded until Novemlber 24.
