Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday, November 1, as under: — Fat Sheep: — There was a large yarding and late prices were well maintained in all classes with the exception of spring lambs, which were yarded in over supply, and consequently receded 2s or 3s per head. Extra heavy shorn wethers made up to 14s 7d; medium weight wethers, 12s to 13s; shorn hoggets, 10s lld to 11s 9d; fat ewes extra heavy, prime, 7s 6d to 8s 3d; medium weight, fat ewes, 6s to 6s lld; spring lambs brought from 8s to 11s 6d; many good prime lambs sold at round about 9s."

Fat Cattle: — A large yarding. Prices were again a shade lower with a weak demand. Medium weight prime bullocks sold from £5 10s to £6 5s; lighter bullocks, £5 ; prime fat heifers light weights, sold up to £4 6s; fat cows, £2 15s to £3 10s; fat heifers £2 10s to £8 2s 6d; inferior cows, 25s to 40s. Store Cattle: — There was a large yarding of store cattle which sold at late rates. Polled Angus cows in calf, made -30s ; cows* with calves at foot (P.A.), 35s; empty P.A. cows from £1 13s to £1 17s; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 16s; store heifers, 27s; Jersey empty cows and heifers, 16s to 22s; small yearling Jersey heifers, 24s; bulls, £5 to £6; boner cows, 12s to 18s. j Pigs: — A record yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. Fat pigs sold on a par with last week's rates, while stores sold at rates below last week's quotations. We sold a line of 35 baconers which averaged £2. of eleven pigs which were sold at £2 4. We sold: — Best baconers, £2 to £2 4s; medium baconers, 34s to 39s; light baconers and heavy porkers, 26s to 33.s; lighter porkers, 18s to 24s; best stores up to 22s 6d; slips, 14s to 18s 6d; best weaners, 10s 6d to 12s 6d; others, 6s to 9s 6d; sows in pig £1 to £1 15s; 3-month-old purebred Tamworth boars, £1 ls.
