NEW ZEALAND AWARDS BY ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY Christchurch, Monday. Awards for bravery were inade today hy fhe court directors of the Royal Humane Society as follows: Godfrey James Hedley, of Governors Bay, aged 26 years, who rescned Joseph M. Manhire, from drowning at Governors Bay on Angust 14, 1931, certificate of commendation; James Kean, of St. Albans, aged 18 years, who rescued Mrs. Beatrice Doris Stevens from drownihg at New Brighton on February 14, 1932, certificate of commendation; James Leonard Johnson, of Waitaki Hydro Works, aged 36 years, who rescued Rymela Adolph Grimwood fropi drowning in the Waitaki River, bronze medal.
