CIVIL CEREMONY PERFORMED WITH MIDDLE CLASS SIMPLICITY

Rec. Oct. 20, 5.5 p.m. Coburg, Oct. 19. Simply as a middle-class German couple, Princess Sybille, of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, married Prince Gustav a son of the Swedish Crown Prince, according to the civil law of the Ducal Palace. The bride wore a brown frock. Only the parents and a f ew officials were present. The ceremony was performed by the Nazi Burgomaster, who yielding to the general simplieity, appeared in mufti. Meanwhile the ancient city was busily welcoming 67 royalties including Prince Arthur of Connaught and the Earl and Countess of Athlone, assembling! for the w'eddihg. Thirty thousand participated in a torchlight parade. Illuminations in the evening began the municipal celebrations, preceding the religious ceremony, which will be accompanied by mediaeval ritual to-morrow.
