COURT ENGAGED HEARING CHIEFLY TECHNICAL EVIDENCE

Rec. Oct. 20, 8.50 p.m. Sydney, October 20. The "Wizard" Smith libel action against Smith's Weekly, is still in progress, the major portion of the evidence being technical, relating to the engine of Smith's car and the probable cause of the fire. Additional evidence taken on commission in New Zealand from Allan Bell, proprietor of the Northlander, concerning the conditions at NinetyMile Beach while Smith was there, was read. Bell declared that he never saw Smith display any signs of eowardice.
