FINAL MEETING PROPOSALS FOR ADVANCEMENl OF GAME NEXT SEASON INTERESTING SUGESTIONS Plans for the further advancen« of the game in Rotorua were cussed at the final meeting of t},( Rotorua Rugby Sub-Union held laj Ovening. The president, Mr. T. g Robertson," presided.' The matter was introduced by Uj W. G. Harwood, who said that it his opinion that dwihg to the clrif of players to forestry work toward the close of the season, the union' competitiori matclies should be com menced earlier than has been tli case in the past. He also considere that an endeavour should be made f institute a Wednesday competitior as there are a nurhber of playei who are not catered for owing to tli shops remaining open on Saturdayj If this were done he said he felt % sured that a good junior cdmpetitioi could he arranged which would gai the sup'port of the public. . Mr. T. Anderson supported Mr Harwood, and said' that' when ti)i closing day had been Saturday, great er interest had been shown hy tlj, players and more support had beei received from the public. A suggestion that the number of senior teams shotild ' be redueed ty dividing the town into districts tt provide four teams, was a'dvanced bj Mr. R. Paul. -He edhsidefed that 'ti* itrength of the senior teams wouli he greatly added to hy this niethoj and that it would' also result in tlt opportunity of creating a senior 1 grade. After' further diseussion it wa: hgreed definite plans in the directioi indicated should be f ormulated t the management cbmmiittee befon ithe annual meeting.
