SERIOUS charge made AGAINST auckland MEDICO

Auckland, Tuesday. George Fredericlc Hewer (39), described on the charge-sheet as .a medical practitioner, was remanded , today on a charge of unlawfully using an instrument on a womaii aged 26 years, whom detectives and the police matron yesterday removed to the hospital. Hewer was remanded until October 11. "When counsel applied for bail Detective-Sergeant .Kelly said the woman's condition is very serious, and the doctors said it was yet a question of life or death. The niagistrate refused to grant bail meanwhile.
