PRISONER INVOKES GOD AS TEMPORAL JUDGE

Christchurch, Monday. The Police Court was startled this morning at the sight of an accused man dramatically dropping to his knees in.the dock, clasping his hands above his head, and calling on God to be his judge. "I am going to be your judge," said the Magistrate, Mr. Mosley. The man in the dock, George Percival Williams (41), carriex-, was charged with druixkenness, .comnxittal of mischief , and assaulting a constable. He was sentenced to three nxonths' imprisonxnent for assault.
