The Yalkyrian- — Sports Queen geld ing Sports King who was formerly owned in the Rotorua district but wa. sold to go South won the Penscrof Hurdles at Ashburton on Saturday Sports King is a half-brother to Royal Visitor who ran third in the Grand National and subsequenlly won both the Beaufort and the Lincoln Steepleehases at the Cantenbury Jockey Club's meeting last August. While in this province Sports King showed some ability over hurdles but seemed short of stamina.
