PRESIDENT SURVEYS WORK OF THE PAST YEAR. I" his annual repoia pvesented at Friuay evening's meeting of the Rotorua Retaxlers' Assoeiaiion, the presictent, Mr. W. R. Ilarris, stated that the membeiship had increased by eight during- the year, bringing- Ihe number up to 39. Arnong the matters dealt with were reductions in telephone rentals, electrxc ligM charges, additional advertising, cte. A donation was made from tho carnivab week fund to the relief fund. The association had also be.en able to check a fair amount of unbusinesslike methods of trading in the town. The fmaneial position was sound, the balanco sheet showing a satisfactory credit balance. The year had been a very strenuous one for all businessmen, making trading very difficult, but he hoped they would all take an optimistic view of the future. Mr. H. L. Musgrave moved and Mr. H. W. Beale seconded the adoption of the report and the motion was carried without diseussion. Mr, E. Pratt was appointed a delegate from the association on the "Advance Rotorua" organisation. A vote of thanks was extended tc Mr. A. Budd for auditing the hook: of the association.
