PROFESSOR CRITICISES AGREEMENTS AT OTTAWA

— By Telegraph — Copyrlght).

Sydney, Sep. 15. Professor Copland expressed the opinion that the agreements made at Ottawa, will not lead to the development of the Empire as an economic unit. He said that only one-third of Australia's export trade, went to Britain, and of that amount half had to be sold at the world's parity prices. Only one-sixth of the Australian export trade would benefit from the preferential duties of 10 per cent. The benefit to Australia would be. approximately £1,500,000.
