WE CHAT

MARY

ANNE.

I bear that the dressmakers are terribly busy this week making frocks for the Hunt ball, so I daresay we shall see some very pretty creations on the floor next Wednesday evening. The pattern hook will he well sorted over and not many of the latest style will remain uncopied after next week, still I don't suppose the dressmakers will grumble — in fact, I shouldn't wonder if they have said to themselves "I should not mind if a Hunt ball came more often!" Will you help Mary Anne? I'm sure you will; it isn't very much, but will assist her tremendously in her task of describing the numerous frocks

that will he worn at the dance. On entering, each lady will receive a card, and Mary Anne will be most grateful if she will enter her name and the description of her frock on the card and slip it in a box which will be placed in the dressing-room. This is being done in order to seeure an exact description of all the frocks. Aren't the new spring materials fascinating ? There s'eem such loads of new ones this year and the colours seem to be brighter and prettier than ever. Yoiles, as usual, demand much prominence, don't they? and some of the pastel shades are charming and make one yearn to have some of those on display for frocks. The little short jumpers seem all the go for the summer, and those who have not already lcnitted one have plenty to choose from in the shops. Yours, this week,
