TAURANGA VISIT
ARIKIKAPAKAPA ENTERTAINS. A team of lady golfers in company with a men's team motored through to Rotorua during the week-end to try their prowess against that of the local ladies. The iay was heavenly — not a cloud in the sky and the links resplendent with wattle loolced glorious. In fact, everything went serenely, the only complaint being the heat, which for this time of the year is as yet a novel complaint. The team combination was strong on both' sides, but the local knowledge of greens and bunkers acquired hy the home team proved too strong for the visitors hy a large margin. The hue and cry of the ladies from suhny Tauranga was "Oh, those bunkers!" If they received an overdose, only their p>artners and opponents knew what they added to the phrase. I'm afraid the only time one really appreciates these numerous hazards is when our visitors descend into their depths and in despair relinquish the hole, and so 1 up to Rotorua. Among the Tauranga ladies over for the day were: — Mrs. Jordan, Mrs. Steedman, Mrs. Heald, Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Ivory, Miss C. Humphries, Misses Goodyear (2), Miss M. Sanders, Miss C. Renshaw, Miss N. Renshaw, Miss Lyn Snodgrass, Miss P. Hartley and Miss D. Hartley.
