WARO MINE

(Press. Assn.

WITHDRAWAL OF PUMPS TO COMMENCE TO-DAY

— By Telegraph — Copyrlght.;.

Whangarei, Wednesday. j The latest development arising from j the lack of Government and other j orders necessary to keep work going is that the Waro Co-operative Coal j Company at Hikurangi has decided to start withdrawing pumps from the mine to-morrow. A final :Vote on the proposal to wind up the company will be taken on the 22nd inst. The position is critical, as the stoppage would prevent the continuance of operations at the Hikurangi Company's mine on account of flooding from the Waro pit, thereby rendering idle several hundred miners.
