Wellington, Wednesday. j Extradited from Australia on a ■ warrant served in consequence of j information laid, a Wellington money , lender, Thomas Frederick Garside, : aged 20 years, ex-shop assistant, em- | ployed by the Self Help Co-operative 1 Stores, appeared before Mr. E. Page, ( S.M., in the Magisti*ate's Court, on i charges of forging and uttering, and ] obtaining a cheque for £100 from j Charles L. Woolley, by falsely re- i presenting that £164 12/- was due j to him from his employers. The charg- { es included forging the signature of B. Sutherland, director of the Self Help Co-operative Stores. When arrested in Australia, accused had in his possession a steamer ticket to London. Garside was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence, bail being refused.
