REGULATING LEGISLATION IS PROPOSED IN AUSTRALIA
-By Telegr.'-ph — Ccc y "Ight) .
Canberra, Sept. 14. Amending navigation legislation to be introduced into the Federal Parliament shortly, will control the operations of the present Matson service between Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne, complaints regarding which have been made by a committee of members of Parliament from four States. It is further claimed that the amendment to the Navigation Act will do much to re-establish trade between Australia and New Zealand. The same members are seeking the restoration of the former passenger service from Sydney to Hobart, via Auckland, Wellington, Bluff and Hobart, tho cessation of which seriously affected the tourist traffic.
