Sydney, Sept. 14. The Anstralian Press Association's representative cables that Rarotonga was en fete on Monday when the native chiefs joined the Resident Commissioner, Mr. H. F. Ayson, in welcoming Mi*. J. G. Coates (New Zealand) and the Australian delegates, the New Zealand Olympic team, and th'e Australian cricketers. Luncheon was served in the grounds of the Royal Palace to the accompaniment of native girls' singing and dancing. The huge crowd adjourned to the sports ground where Fleetwood-Smith showed how to spin the ball. He then bowled to Don Bradman, who received an ovation on hitting several houndaries. Mr. Coates kicked off in a foothall match between the Olympic team and the burly hare-footed natives. Thte New Zealanders won by 9 points t]0 5. Mr. H. S. Gullett, the Australian Minister of .Customs, whose sister died from exhaustion on the Blue Mountains during the week-end, remained on hoard the Niagara.
