The Morris Engines Braneh at Coventry possesses a floor space of 450,000 square feet, a personnel of 2750 and a pay-roll of £11,000 a week. Including all materials, as well as proprietary fitments, over 300 outside concerns are engaged in the supply of components for Morris cars. Including colour variations, there are 100 different models going through' the works at the sama time in the current programme. British Empire people will also he interested to learn that the Morris canteens dispose of large quantities of Dominion produce, and that the vast army of Morris embployees are one and all urged, by posters and other means, to buy British goods of every nature, from the Empire overseas no less than from home sources. Sir William R. Morris, Bai't., presiding at the sixth annual general meeting of Morris Motors Ltd., held on April 25, announced that the company's net profits on trading throughout 1931, together with the interest received from investments, after making full provision for deprieciation of assets and all contingencies, amount- j ed to the sum of £810,743 8s.
