BLOCKS MANAWATU GORGE

Palmerston N., Tuesday. Following the heavy rainfall a slip of large dimensions came down in the Manawatu Gorge last night, and was
discovered at 5 o'cloclt this morning. The road is completely blocked. The scene of the blockage is opposite the point where big slips previously blocked the railway. The latter is still clear. A gang is clearing the debris, but it is not known when the road will be clear.
