greta garbo returns to her home town. stockholm, August 10 ' Tlre noted Swedish film star, Greta ; Garbo, came home like a conquering heroine to-day. A thousand people lined the quays, which were gay with ' Swedish and American fiags, and small boats swarmed round the liner which brought her. Greta repearedly embraced her brother, but noticing some journalists fled to her cabin and refused to roveal where she would be staying in Sweden, saying that she was seeking a quiet corner for a rest. She could not even be persuaded to say whether she would be returning to Hollywood. The actress denied that she had ever written newspaper articles, but declared that she was no longer surprised when she read her alleged views on love and everything else. The public, Greta added, did not attach niuch importance to film stars '.nd only went to the "tallcies" to forgct their trounbles or to seek illusions.
