Rec. Aug. 29, 8.15 p.m. Sydney, August 29. The wool sale opened in Sydney fcoday, under very stsrong competition for values of all descriptions. Merinos were 20 per cent. higher than the closing rates in June. A special feature was the ren.ewed activity in Cont'nental figures. Compared with the opening . rates last season, the values v/ere | five per cent. to 7J per cent. high- ■ ei*. Greasy Merino fleeces sold to i4id. The offering totalled 11,509 bales, of which 10,628 were sold, and also 12.261 bales privately.
