CAUSE FLOODING OF HUTT AND WAIRARAPA RIVERS

Wellington, Sunday. Heavy rains caused flooding of the Hutt river. The water came across the road near the Silverstream bridge and at Taita gorge. The Manor Park golf course is under water. No losses are reported. Heavy floods are also reported in the Wairarapa district and power from Mangahao was cut off from Masterton.
