CABINET HAS LENGTHY CONSIDERATION OF ESTIMATES

Wellington, Saturday. During the past few days Cabinet has been giving close attention to the final report of the National Expenditure Commission, especialy in reference to possible savings in the Estimates. Cabinet sat late last night and again this morning. When seen, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, said Ministers had been engaged in reviewing the Estimates in the light of the Commission's report and the task had been a very arduous one. He said the report would not be published till the first week of the session, which eommences on September 22.
