Rec. Aug. 21, 5.5 p.m. ' Melbourne, August 20. * In the hocltey match, New Zealand v. Victoria, the scorers for Victoria were Coles and Thwaites and for New Zealand, Anthony and Bay. From the start of the game it was evident that the New Zealanders had strong opposition, and only the splendid defence of the New Zealanders saved them from defeat. The New Zealand manager said after the match, that the game was the best contested match of the trip, and he praised the standard of the Victorian players. The match was witnessed by an excellent crowd in perfect weather.
