Rec. Aug. 19, 7.55 p.m. La Plata, Argentina, Aug. 18. Five gunmen robbed four bank messengers of £2000 in broad daylight in the centre of the city, and 'escaped by a motor car, after firing a volley at the hostile spectators, killing two and wounding six. The messengers walked 100 yards unmolested, when two violent motor collisions at the nearest corner, caused general confusion, during which the robbery was accomplish'ed. The bandits dashed away while their accomplices held back the traffic waving red danger flags.
