Wellington, Friday. Hon. G. W. Forbes stated to-day that in a cable from Ottawa Hon. J. G. Coates indicated that he will return to New Zealand immediately after the close pf the conference, and connect if possible with the Monowai, leaving San Francisco on August 31. In that case he should arrive at Wellington on September 19. Mr. Coates urged the advisahility of the Hon. Downie Stewart and the Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Park, proceeding to England to attend to certain matters in connection with the Dominion's puhlic finances, and this arrangement has heen agreed to by Cabinet. They will return as soon as possible.
