Rec. Aug. 19, 5.0 p.m. Calcutta, August 18. The Government of India is taking drastie measures to quell the terrorism in Bengal, which recently has become intensified in the form of murders, attacks on Government officials and police, political hrigandage, mail robberies and thefts of arms and ammunition. Accordingly six battalions of Indian and one battalion of British infantry are proceeding to Bengal early in October to assist the police in combing out the terrorists.
