WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The Woodlands' Women's Institu' meeting was held in the Woodland. Ilall on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs.

Mulhern presided over a record attendance of members. The meeting was opened with tlxe National Anthem, followed by the Institute's Song. After business matters had been disposed of, community singing was carried out. First aid hints brought forth some very helpful information. A most interesting talk on the Sudan, given by Mrs. D. McDiarmid, who has spent many years in that part of the world, was much appreciated by the members. Mrs. McDiarmid was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. An age competition was won by ■ Mrs. W. II. Pilkington. The serving of a very dainty tea by the hostesses, Mesdames J. Armstrong, McGregor and A. Hollard, concluded the afternoon.
