NATIVE LAND COURT
COMMISSIONER BOWLER T0 FILL ROTORUA VACANCY The vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr. A. G. Holland from the' position of Judge of the. Native Land Court, has been filled^by'the appoint-; ment of Commissioner W. H. Bowler, of Auckland. Until recently, Commissioner Bowler was registrar of the Native Land Court at Wanganui, and previous to! occupying that position, he was actj ing Judge in Rotorua, so he is not. ! altogether a stranger to the district.; He has filled several important Government positions, particularly M the purchase of native land. He bought large traets for the Government in the Urewera country, and was complimented by the Minister upon his achievement. In addition to presiding at the sittings of the Native Land Court liere,^ he will act as chairman of the Waiariki Land Board.
