PROPOSED PLANTING OF FLAX IN ROTORUA DISTRICT j In Thursday's issue of the "Morr ing Post" referenee was made to the decision of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research to U0" 'mote the cultivation of a new variety of flax in this district. Discussing the subject with ^ a porter yesterday, Mr. H. Tai Mitcheli stated that plots had been selected for the purpose.. A representative of the department, accompanied by Nh W. Scott, visited various places 111 the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty districts, and it was decided to P^11 j two-acre plots at Tauranga, M^tn( Waewaetutukai and Rotorua. 0Pe1' ations will be commenced withon delay.
