LONDON, Tuesday. The Treasury announces that the War Loan conversions, with the benefit of cash bonus, aggregate £1,850,000,000. A number of delayed overseas applications are still being dealt with. Applications for redemption roughly total £48,000,000. The newspapers are dalighted at the success of the conversion loan and expressed the opinion that it will immeasurably enhance Great Britain's power and leadership in the present troublous condition of the world affairs. Viscount Snowden said the i figures represent a magnificent suc- ! cess. | The Daily Telegraph citjr editor I said the prospects of the compiete I conversion of the whole £2,087,000,- ' 000 of stoclc is extremely likely. The Morning Post says that the conversion represents nearly 90 per cent. of the total. The nation must be warmly congratulated. Mr. Neville Chamberlain received ; Ihe London loan conversion figures at Ottawa and said that the result cxceeded all expectations, and more than justified the confidence of the British people's common sense and patriotism.
