VESSEL ARRIVES AFTER ROUGH TASMAN CROSSING

AUCKLAND, Monday. Fully loaded wita wheat tae Union o Steam Ship Company's steamer Kairanga had an exceedingly rough voyage from Geelong, and reached port this aftei-noon, nearly a week late., The captain said it was the worst trip he had ever had in the Tasman Sea. The ship was hove to for 24 hours on August 8-9, with its head into the gale, and when she got going again progress was very slow, as every day brought another gale.
