-By Telegraph — Copyright). |
Rec. Aug. 14, 7.0 p.m. | BERLIN, Saturday j Herr von Papen is continuing the | Chancellorship. Herr Hitler had a lengthy conversation with President Hindenburg, who repeated his invitation to share in the Cabinet, but rejected Her Hittler's demands for the Chancellorship, and regretted Herr Hitler's refusal to fulfil his pre-elec-tion statement that he would support a National. Government. It is understood that the President told Herr Hitler that he was in a position, and was ready, to curb any attempt to seize power by violent means. It is believed that the Government is considering the issue of a proclamation or state of emergency to frustrate any Nazi move.
