CHRISTCHURCH SCHEME CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. A scheme, planning the employment of 500 boys during, the month of September, with the ultimate object of securing permanent positions for as many of the 500 as possible, was discussed and approved in Christchurch by a representative meeting of business groups and welfare organisations. The scheme, which has been drawn up by Mr. J. L. Hay, of Hays, Limited, drapers, aims to start a'campaign for increased business, with special :nducement to the public for increased sponding, such as attractive disrlays and lower prices in shops, railway and tramway concessions, and various devices in the way of entertainment to create an atmosphere of ! a shopping fair.
