WELLINGTON, Monday The trial biegan before Mr. Just'ice Reed and a jury of Horace Frank Livermore (20) ^ charged with murdering Yera Margaret Foster (4£) at Upper Hutt on April 15. It is expected to last at least two days. Th6 Crown Prosecutor said he understood the defence would be insanity, but the law was that everybody was presumied sane until the contrary was proved. Accused pleaded not guilty. The evidence for the Crown followed that given in the Lower Court in June. The Crown Prosecutor read accused's statement admitting murdering the girl to prevent her telling that he had been interfering with her. Mrs Foster, in describing prisoner as frequently showing signs of depression, said he seemed to thmk that he could make money writing books She saw two stories which were ra1 her weird. The judge asked whether any of these stories were available. Accused's counsel said he Ihought one was. He would try and produce it.
